Michelin Commander II Tires

A new standard in cruiser tire longevity

  • Independent tests show that the Michelin Commander II tires last almost twice as long as its main competitors.

Excellent Grip on Wet Surfaces

  • A brand-new longitudinal tread provides outstanding water evacuation, resulting in excellent grip on wet surfaces.

Innovative technology

  • Amplified Density Technology: A highly dense, more-rigid tire casing, which helps deliver excellent feedback and handling.   Thanks to its high-density and therefore stiffer frame (MICHELIN Amplified Density Technology), MICHELIN Commander II features premium handling and responsiveness. The top layers in rear tires are made of aramid fibers, which combine resistance and a lightweight feel for perfect stability, even at high speeds.

Amplified Density Technology

  • Aramid tread plies on the front tire resist centrifugal growth, reduce weight and provide excellent stability.
  • All-new rubber compounds for remarkable wet grip, without compromising durability.
  • Square bead wires improve casing rigidity, handling and ease of installation.

A groundbreaking new look

  • Unique tread pattern for head-turning looks.
  • Premium sidewall treatment complements cruiser styling.

Impressive Independent Studies

Michelin Commander II delivers unrivaled tire life.  Independent tests using a Harley-Davidson Electra Glide Classic prove it: a rear Michelin Commander II tire is capable of covering up to 24.000 miles.  That's nearly twice the distance covered by its direct competitors, while the longevity of the front tire is even greater.  The Michelin Commander II creates a new standard with regard to durability, yet without making any compromises in terms of wet weather grip, maneuverability, or stability.  Commander II tires are designed for dramatically extended mileage and feature Aramid tread plies to resist centrifugal growth, reduce weight and provide excellent stability.  This performance balance provides yet another eloquent illustration of Michelin's research and development philosophy: no performance gain to be achieved on one front to the determent of another.

In response to the major problem faced by custom motorcycle riders - tire life, notably at the rear - the engineers at Michelin have developed a new rubber compound which includes Silica Rain Technology (SRT).  This technology integrates silica into the compound of the tire tread, while the Michelin Commander II's tread pattern has been designed to prevent all forms of uneven wear.
